Jordan Jones shot dead

Local police reported that a security officer at a Georgia club was shot and murdered while trying to break up a quarrel between a guy and a woman.

The Acworth Police Department reported in a news statement that Jordan Alexander Jones, 28, of Lawrenceville, Ga., was shot and killed approximately 2:42 a.m. local time while trying to break up the altercation.

According to the news release, when APD officers got to the site, they "found a victim with a gunshot wound." "As soon as they got there, officers started helping until Cobb County Fire and Metro EMS arrived. The APD said, "The victim was taken to Kennestone Hospital, where he later died from his injuries."

The police agency stated it got in touch with Jones' family and offered its "condolences to the family during this difficult time."

Officers named Daniel Di Vonne Parsons from Douglasville, Georgia, as the shooter, saying that the 25-year-old "had been in a fight before the shooting."The victim tried to stop the brawl, but the suspect got a gun and shot the victim. The APD announcement claimed, "The suspect was later found on foot near the scene on Baker Road and was taken into custody without incident."

The news notice says that Parsons has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated violence, and aggravated murder. The APD said that the investigation into Jones' death is still going on.

According to jail documents that PEOPLE looked at, Parsons is presently being detained without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
